The Gallery at Penn College Articles

The newly launched LEAP Center at Pennsylvania College of Technology, which helps first-year and transfer students “learn, evolve, adapt and prepare” for rewarding futures, is already fulfilling its promise.

An artist’s attention to anatomy, medical imaging and medical illustration is highlighted in Michael Reedy’s gallery talk, available on The Gallery at Penn College’s website. The Michigan artist and educator was unable to offer his talk in person, as part of his “Into the Void” gallery exhibit; however, he created a thoughtful and insightful online presentation.

The Witmer Group, a masonry contractor based in Mount Joy, is continuing remediation of the 22-year-old entrance fountains and repairs to the brick pillars surrounding Pennsylvania College of Technology's main campus entrance – presenting an opportunity for well-wishers to honor the legacy of retiring President Davie Jane Gilmour.

Rain prompted postponement of some events and flat-out cancellation of others, but the return of sunshine and blue skies allowed for continuation of a Penn College tradition – the annual "PC3" kickoff to the semester. As with earlier events, campus photographers were kept busy with an Aug.

When Pennsylvania College of Technology students began classes Aug. 16, those in baking, pastry and culinary arts majors already had their hands full as they work to fill the stomachs of the teams participating in the Little League Baseball ® World Series, held just a few miles from the Penn College campus.

The solo exhibition of Michigan artist Michael Reedy’s drawings and mixed media artwork runs through Oct. 8.

Another whirlwind Welcome Weekend is history, providing instant memories for first-year and returning students; their families; and the faculty, staff and classmates who will share their Penn College experience.

The Fish Real Estate Leadership Challenge Course, the creation of which involved the same collaborative spirit that it will nurture in those who use it, was dedicated Aug. 11 on the wooded southcentral side of Pennsylvania College of Technology. The Challenge Course – a remarkable project funded by Brent and Daria Fish in memory of Brent’s father, William H.

Disability & Access Resources (formerly Disability Services) has relocated to the Bush Campus Center, Suite 202. Students with documented disabilities can rely on the office to explore and facilitate reasonable accommodations, academic adjustments, and/or auxiliary aids and services.

Pennsylvania College of Technology held its Summer Commencement at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Community Arts Center in downtown Williamsport, a ceremony that marked the sacrifices – and ultimate triumph – by classmates whose final year was anything but typical. Larcynina De Guzman Bitner, of Mill Hall, who earned a Bachelor of Science degree in physician assistant, was the student speaker.
