Scholarship applications are being accepted for the Fall 2007 semester, notes Pennsylvania College of Technology's director of financial aid, who encourages eligible new and current students to apply online. "Scholarships are a major focus for students attending Penn College," Dennis L. Correll said. "This year, we awarded $700,000 worth of scholarships to more than 600 students.

The Financial Aid Office reminds Penn College students of the "Scholarship Search" Web page devoted to external scholarships availableto them. Dennis L. Correll, financial aid director, has compiled a list of all scholarships for which many students have been fortunate enough to be chosen and issharing it with all students.

Two graphic design students from Penn College were among those adding seasonal color to storefronts in downtown Williamsport on Wednesday afternoon. Barbara A. Andreassen, of Montoursville, and Timothy A.

Amanda G. LeClair, a dental hygiene-health policy and administration major from Reading, has been selected by the Student Government Association as its "Student of the Month" for November. LeClair chairs the Wildcat Events Board, participates in SGA, is a student liaison with Penn College Food Services and works at the Student Activities desk.

Starting with the Spring 2007 semester, the Registrar's Office no longer will send official schedules to students once they register (satisfy tuition and fees). Students now will receive notification via an e-mail and postcard when they are officially registered. The postcard will be sent to the student's home address and the e-mail to his or her Penn College e-mail account.

Previously, students with holds on their academic records were denied access to the Student Information System, which prevented students from accessing other services offered through SIS.

A little initiative has paid off in valuable real-world work experience for Pennsylvania College of Technology sophomore Ryan F. Walls.

The Residence Hall Association sent six student leaders to an annual Regional Central Atlantic Affiliate of College and University Residence Halls Conference in Maryland from Nov. 10-12. On Nov. 14, a group of 10 Penn College students, along with their instructor, visited the corporate headquarters of PPL Telcom in Allentown. The group was hosted by Paul Ciotta, marketing communications specialist.

Penn College students were among weekend volunteers for the Lycoming County Habitat for Humanity Build on Charles Street in Williamsport, the latest in a series of "Civility Saturday" community-service opportunities. Participating students were Patrice Campbell, Aaron Moyer, Matt Weiser, Clayton Morrow, Laura Gair and Dwight Bennett.
