The Residence Life Office at Pennsylvania College of Technology has announced its exemplary student and on-campus housing programs for November and December. RA of the MonthChosen as "Resident Assistant of the Month" was Ashley L. Snyder, a nursing student from RR2 Shamokin and a second-year RA at Rose Street Apartments.
A freshman in Pennsylvania College of Technology's welding and fabrication engineering technology major recently advanced to a new level of competition that will culminate at the U.S. Open Weld Trials at the SkillsUSA Championships in Kansas City, Mo., in June. Westley A. Smith, Mifflinburg, plans to become an engineer after earning a bachelor's degree from Penn College.
A team of construction management students from Pennsylvania College of Technology placed first at a recent regional competition in New Jersey, winning $2,000 and an all-expense-paid trip to the national level in Texas. The team one of three six-member groups to represent Penn College at the Nov.
Career Services provides a variety of sessions, as well as ongoing opportunities for students to interact with employers who are looking to fill position openings. Students who need assistance with resumes and cover letters, co-op and internship searches, or interview skills can stop in during drop-in hours.
Scholarship applications are being accepted for the Fall 2007 semester, notes Pennsylvania College of Technology's director of financial aid, who encourages eligible new and current students to apply online. "Scholarships are a major focus for students attending Penn College," Dennis L. Correll said. "This year, we awarded $700,000 worth of scholarships to more than 600 students.
The Financial Aid Office reminds Penn College students of the "Scholarship Search" Web page devoted to external scholarships availableto them. Dennis L. Correll, financial aid director, has compiled a list of all scholarships for which many students have been fortunate enough to be chosen and issharing it with all students.

Amanda G. LeClair, a dental hygiene-health policy and administration major from Reading, has been selected by the Student Government Association as its "Student of the Month" for November. LeClair chairs the Wildcat Events Board, participates in SGA, is a student liaison with Penn College Food Services and works at the Student Activities desk.
Starting with the Spring 2007 semester, the Registrar's Office no longer will send official schedules to students once they register (satisfy tuition and fees). Students now will receive notification via an e-mail and postcard when they are officially registered. The postcard will be sent to the student's home address and the e-mail to his or her Penn College e-mail account.
Previously, students with holds on their academic records were denied access to the Student Information System, which prevented students from accessing other services offered through SIS.
