The Gardasil vaccine for human papillomavirus is available free to walk-ins at the Student Health Center (CC, Room 150) from 8-11 a.m. and 2-7 p.m. daily. Gardasil is a vaccine indicated for the prevention of cervical, vulvar and vaginal cancers; precancerous or dysplastic lesions; and genital warts caused by HPV Types 6, 11, 16 and 18.

The Pennsylvania College of Technology chapters for three honor societies held induction ceremonies on March 19, honoring 93 new members for their academic achievement. Phi Theta Kappa Sixty-one students were inducted into the college's Beta Epsilon Upsilon Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, an international honor society for students enrolled in two-year academic majors.

Seventeen Pennsylvania College of Technology students and two chaperones traveled to Florida for an Alternative Spring Break, working with the Greater Miami chapter of Habitat for Humanity through the Collegiate Challenge program. The year-round initiative offers groups of five or more, age 16 and older, the opportunity to visit one of Habitat’s 200 host affiliates throughout the United States.

Taylor M. Kijak, scheduled to graduate in May with a bachelor's degree in plastics and polymer engineering technology, has been chosen as February's Student of the Month. A physician assistant student at Pennsylvania College of Technology was awarded a full scholarship for 2010-11 through the National Health Service Corps. Heather J. Simonson, a junior from Catawissa, was one of 125 students selected from a pool of 65,000 applicants.
