About 30 Pennsylvania College of Technology students will be part of the culinary brigade serving guests at Churchill Downs during the 151st running of the famed Kentucky Derby on May 3. The students were interviewed and hired by staff of Levy Restaurants, which provides dining operations at Churchill Downs, for internships at the facility during Derby Week, the event-filled lead-up to the Kentucky Derby.

The gymnasium at Firetree Place shines bright after 18 Penn College electrical construction students installed new lighting for the nonprofit community center in Williamsport. Students in two sections of Construction Lab IV-Practical Experience spent four days removing 28 outdated fixtures and replacing them with new energy efficient LED high bay lights.

Pennsylvania College of Technology has received approval from the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing to expand its Workforce Development practical nursing program, originally based at Penn College’s Wellsboro campus, to the college’s main campus in Williamsport. This strategic move aims to enhance access to quality nursing education and address the nursing shortage at both state and national levels.

WNEP-TV stopped by the third annual Rotorfest, held Tuesday on the front lawns and parking lots of Pennsylvania College of Technology. Hosted by the emergency management & homeland security major, the event attracted nearly 600 K-12 students and school staff from 13 counties, as well as a range of emergency responders.
