A long-term corporate partner of Pennsylvania College of Technology is extending its commitment to the school’s popular welding program. Hypertherm Associates, a U.S.-based manufacturer of industrial cutting products and software, is providing the college with 10 new machines as part of a two-year entrustment renewal.
Although Penn College students were on Spring Break last week, their caring efforts still made an impact in the local community, as the Office of Student Engagement’s Spring Break Donation Initiative delivered gifts to four local nonprofit organizations. The items were made possible by Penn College students who have worked on various service projects throughout the Spring Semester, including creating care kits and homemade dog toys.
An iconic antique vehicle restored by Pennsylvania College of Technology students received high honors at a recent prestigious car show in Coral Gables, Florida. Tucker No. 1013, a 1948 vehicle, won the Best in Class Award for the American Dream Collection at Moda Miami. Held on the grounds of the historic Biltmore Hotel, Moda Miami is considered one of the world’s premier car events, attracting luxury brand enthusiasts, collectors and industry professionals.

Beginning with the 2025-26 academic year, Grow PA Grant scholarships of up to $5,000 each will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Students may apply for the scholarships beginning March 13 at the PHEAA website.

What once was a drab storage area in Pennsylvania College of Technology’s Field House is now a functional team room for Wildcat athletics, thanks to staff from General Services. Carpenters, electricians, painters and plumbers transformed the space, which consisted of concrete walls and flooring with minimal lighting, into a crisp, clean room benefiting student athletes.

Four Pennsylvania College of Technology welding students advanced to the SkillsUSA National Championships by winning state titles yesterday in competitions conducted at the college. The three-person Penn College fabrication team – Clayton J. Fegley, of McClure; Sam R. Laudenslager, of Middleburg; and Tyler C. Martin, of Selinsgrove – and Liam W. Patton, of Apollo, secured spots at nationals with first-place showings.
Dining Services partnered with Penn College resident assistants to host a Tasting Showcase. Dining Services cooks prepared several items focused on plant-based food options and Pennsylvania-sourced ingredients. Participants were asked to complete a survey to indicate what items they may be interested in seeing on college menus.
