More than 200 high school students from throughout the state are preparing scores of mousetraps to capture honors, not mice, at Pennsylvania College of Technology this week. Instead of cheese, the students will rely on ingenuity to make effective use of mousetraps during Penn College's annual Mousetrap Racer Contest beginning at 8 a.m. Friday, Oct. 15, at the new Field House.

Greater access to campus and lasting evidence of the partnerships involved in its creation will be offered by Pennsylvania College of Technology's new main entrance, scheduled for dedication on Friday, Sept. 24. The 11 a.m.

"Experience the world without a plane ticket" during Pennsylvania College of Technology's International Week (Sept. 13-19): Daily highlights will include: Monday, Sept. 13 Welcome! 11 a.m.-noon "Intercultural Communication" David London, associate professor in speech, communications and composition, moderates a panel discussion with international students.

A new Field House will be dedicated Tuesday, Aug. 17, in a ceremony that will recognize the prowess of Pennsylvania College of Technology's athletic teams and the talents of its student designers and builders.

Veteran PGA Tour member Greg Twiggs will be the featured player for the 13th annual Spring Golf Classic hosted by Pennsylvania College of Technology's Foundation. The event, set for Monday, May 10, at the Williamsport Country Club, is a fundraiser supporting scholarships for Penn College students.

Outstanding achievement awards for vocational-technical students and educators were presented recently at Pennsylvania College of Technology. Honored at the 14th annual Outstanding Vocational Student/Educator Awards Day were representatives from 36 schools in Pennsylvania, New York, Maryland, Delaware and Virginia.

A full range of fun and educational activities are on tap for the Fifth Annual Hobby Day/Open House at Pennsylvania College of Technology's North Campus on Saturday, April 24, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The North Campus is located on Route 6 between Wellsboro and Mansfield.

A motorcycle ride through scenic countryside will benefit Pennsylvania College of Technology's Student Scholarship Fund. The first Scholarship Ride will be held Saturday, April 24. Sponsored by the Penn College Motorsports Association, the ride is open to all motorcycle enthusiasts. Registration will be from 8 to 10 a.m. that day, at Penn College's main campus in Williamsport.

Russell Bry began his food industry career at the age of 12 as a dishwasher. Today, he is a major force on the Chicago culinary scene. Bry will bring his experience and insights to Pennsylvania College of Technology as part of its Visiting Chef Series.

"Looking to the Future through the Past" is the theme for Open House '99 at Pennsylvania College of Technology. On Sunday, March 21, the College will honor its rich history spanning most of the 20th century as well as celebrate the technology moving the campus and its students into the 21st century.
