High school students taking part in Pennsylvania Free Enterprise Week, in the midst of a six-day session on main campus, were introduced to Penn College's far-reaching "degrees that work" during a tour Wednesday.

Pennsylvania Free Enterprise Week, in its fourth year at Penn College, opened Sunday morning across the college's main campus. Hundreds of young men and women representing every county in the commonwealth joined by their parents for lunch, campus tours and an introductory session in the Klump Academic Center Auditorium are here on scholarships awarded by generous private-sector employers.

The ever-expanding world of comics from the Sunday funnies and comic books to graphic novels, manga and animation to video games will be celebrated during Wildcat Comic Con, set for April 13-14 on Pennsylvania College of Technology's main campus in Williamsport.

Pennsylvania College of Technology will hold a commencement ceremony Saturday, Aug. 6, for more than 230 students who have petitioned to graduate after the college's summer sessions. The ceremony will begin at 11 a.m. in the Community Arts Center, 220 W. Fourth St., Williamsport. Kenneth B. Kephart, of State College, has been selected as the student speaker for the ceremony.

During the waning days of summer Camp ESCAPE, four participants volunteered to read to youngsters at the Children's Learning Center. Campers also took part in a baking project and toured the facility, which recently was moved to the Hager Lifelong Education Center. The tour gave past Children's Learning Center students an opportunity to see the new surroundings and catch up with former teachers.

About two-dozen vehicles owned by Antique Automobile Association of America members were displayed in the College Avenue Labs parking lot Monday, one of seven stops along the group's "Vintage Tour" through northcentral Pennsylvania and the southern tier of New York state.

Girls entering ninth, 10th and 11th grades stayed on Pennsylvania College of Technology's main campus July 10-14 to participate in the annual SMART Girls residential activity. The girls participated in workshops on campus to enhance their knowledge of nontraditional careers – and the usefulness of science and mathematics courses in those potential professions.
