The fifth annual Greater Lycoming Out of the Darkness Walk for suicide prevention will be held from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 22, in Montoursville's Indian Park. The walk will be a 5K (3.1 miles) and the proceeds raised by walkers will go toward American Foundation for Suicide Prevention research and education programs.

Student acts are invited to take part in "Penn College Star," billed as the biggest talent show to ever hit campus, when it begins later this month. The competition – sponsored by Student Activities, the Residence Life Office and the Off-Campus Housing Organization – is a series of three shows, culminating in a Klump Academic Center Auditorium finale with $500 in prizes.

Penn College greeted new and returning students for the start of the Fall 2013 semester during Welcome Weekend, which provided a variety of opportunities for a transition into campus life after a busy summer: moving into on- and off-campus housing, participating in academic and social activities, and being introduced to student leaders, faculty and staff.
