"A Darkness" welcomes gallery visitors into "the split between seen and unseen, reality and myth, waking and dreaming" – a collage of fantasy and reality. Artists Patrick Vincent and Lauren Kinney address the large crowd gathered for the opening of their exhibit in The Gallery at Penn College.

An alumna, touted by a Los Angeles publication as one of that city’s top chefs, will be the next Visiting Chef at Pennsylvania College of Technology.

Pennsylvania College of Technology recently hosted the 63rd annual meeting of the Pennsylvania Sociological Society. The theme for the conference, held Oct. 11-13, was “On Getting by with Change,” focusing on trends in modern society. Five Penn College faculty members participated in conference presentations.

A special display of hooked rugs has been arranged by The Gallery at Penn College during the Tiadaghton Quilt Guild’s biennial quilt show, taking place Oct. 18-20 in the Field House at Pennsylvania College of Technology. The rugs were created by the late Ruth Ann Van Horn, wife of Chalmer C. Van Horn, a professor emeritus of drafting at Penn College.

The darkness dwelling in folk and fairy tales will be illuminated in the next exhibit at The Gallery at Penn College, located on the third floor of Pennsylvania College of Technology’s Madigan Library. “A Darkness,” showcasing the intricacies of woodcarving and printmaking by artists Lauren Kinney and Patrick Vincent, will run Oct. 11 through Nov. 10.

A Pennsylvania College of Technology welding instructor hopes to spark conversation and reflection when he takes the stage as the featured presenter for a popular campus lecture series. Ryan P. Good will be the speaker for the annual David London My Last Words Lecture Series.
