The three associate-degree majors offered by the School of Hospitality at Pennsylvania College of Technology have been granted reaccreditation through 2016. The college's baking and pastry arts and culinary arts technology majors were given renewed accreditation by the American Culinary Federation Education Foundation Accrediting Commission.

Pennsylvania College of Technology has presented a Mentorship Award to Emilie E. Faillo, of Narberth, a 2001 culinary graduate who, in the course of her professional life, has coordinated a variety of real-world work experiences and mentoring opportunities for Penn College students.

Three Pennsylvania College of Technology students were among the medalists at SkillsUSA's 47th annual National Leadership and Skills Conference held June 19-24 in Kansas City, Mo. Penn College alumna Kristi Ritchey, who received a degree in culinary arts technology in 2002, is among three contestants on the second episode of "Extreme Chef," a new competition series on the Food Network. A semester-long project by students in Chef Monica J. Lanczak's Advanced Patisserie Operations class culminated Friday morning in a baking and pastry "trade show" in the Hager Lifelong Education Center.
