The One College Club, a benefit to Pennsylvania College of Technology employees, alumni and retirees, opens Aug. 17 in Le Jeune Chef Restaurant. The club, in a dedicated area at the rear of the restaurant, will feature relaxed dining with its own "gastro-pub" menu, as well as a buffet.

Synthes, a global medical-device company that has supported Pennsylvania College of Technology by donating instructional equipment and hiring numerous graduates of its automated manufacturing and machining program, is the 2010 recipient of the college's Mentorship Award.

Pennsylvania College of Technology conducted its Summer Commencement ceremony Saturday, Aug. 7, at the Community Arts Center in Williamsport. Tammy M. Bergquist, of Montoursville, awarded an associate degree in radiography, was the day's student speaker. More than 230 degrees were conferred by college President Davie Jane Gilmour, accompanied by Lynda M.

At Pennsylvania College of Technology, which will open a new residence hall this fall, students who commute to class still represent the largest percentage of enrollees. Helping those students get the most out of their college experience remains a top priority for the institution.

A business co-owned by two Pennsylvania College of Technology graduates will help install the landscape for an "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" project under way in Berks County. On Tuesday, volunteers from Nature's Accents Landscape Services Inc.

A student in Pennsylvania College of Technology's four-year accounting major has been awarded a scholarship from the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants, which also recognized two recent magna cum laude graduates as "Outstanding Seniors." Nicole M.

A Penn College culinary arts alumnus will be a familiar face on the Food Network and elsewhere in the coming months. James Parker, a 1991 graduate and founder of Veggy Art, is among the competitors in the $10,000 "Food Landscapes" challenge to premiere at 8 p.m. Sunday (and air numerous other times) on the cable channel. Parker also is scheduled for "The Rachael Ray Show" at 10 a.m.

Garrett M. Book, a May graduate of Pennsylvania College of Technology's ornamental horticulture: landscape technology emphasis major, recently received word that he passed all four sections of the Pennsylvania Certified Horticulturist examination. The exam was offered to Penn College students by horticulture instructor Carl J.

With a number of campus events scheduled amid the early-summer swelter and the pending replacement of rooftop units affecting air-conditioning delivery to the Thompson Professional Development Center a cross-college contingency was employed to help keep visitors cool.
