The legacy of a well-respected assistant professor of architecture technology will continue at Pennsylvania College of Technology through a new scholarship fund established in his memory. The executors of the estate of the late William H. Ealer have signed an agreement with the Penn College Foundation establishing the William H. Ealer Scholarship Fund.
Five Penn College baseball and softball players received postseason honors from the United States Collegiate Athletic Association. In baseball, senior Devon Liquori (Hawley) and sophomore Mark Shaffer (Hanover) were named to the first team; senior Phil Woodring (Waynesboro) received honorable mention.
More than 50 original works of art by dozens of Penn College employees are on exhibit in the Gallery at Penn College through June 30. The works include paintings, photographs, wood, ceramics, mixed media, fiber and metal. An opening reception was held Thursday in the gallery, on the third floor of Madigan Library, to showcase the magnificent manifestation of the employees' creative spirit.
The New Choices/New Options program in Career Services is recruiting single parents, single pregnant women and displaced homemakers. NC/NO offers career-development services including (but not limited to) resume-writing, interview skills, stress management, goal-setting and assessments. Program completers are eligible to apply for tuition assistance and/or textbook-cost reimbursement.
Seventeen Pennsylvania College of Technology students who plan to graduate during the 2009 calendar year were presented with Penn College Awards during a Thursday banquet at Le Jeune Chef Restaurant. The 13th annual ceremony recognized students who have made outstanding contributions to Penn College and who have risen above their peers as a result of their leadership.
Pennsylvania College of Technology presented Distinguished Staff and Part-Time Teaching Excellence Awards on Thursday, while also recognizing new members of the college's Quarter-Century Club and recent retirees. The Distinguished Staff Awards honor the contributions and commitment of Penn College's employees, who are nominated by their co-workers.

Pennsylvania College of Technology's baseball season ended after just three games in the United States Collegiate Athletic Association National Championships and coach Chris Howard said his team never found its stride. John W. Miller, a longtime member of the School of Business and Computer Technologies' information technology faculty until his retirement in 2005, died Tuesday, May 12, following a brief illness. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Trinity United Methodist Church, 1407 Allegheny St., Jersey Shore.
