The third episode of the award-winning "degrees that work." television series, a co-production of Pennsylvania College of Technology and WVIA-TV, is set to premiere on the public-television station at 7 p.m. on May 17. The "degrees that work." series is designed to build awareness of careers that may not be familiar to the public but offer ample career opportunities.

Four members of the Wildcat archery team, along with coach/Penn College alumnus Chad Karstetter, traveled to Lycoming Valley Middle School on Wednesday to visit students and demonstrate their title-winning talents.

More than 30 new Penn College students, some of whom have been out of the classroom for decades, received a comprehensive (and reassuring) introduction to campus resources Tuesday from a variety of employees invested in their success. The students are enrolled under Trade Adjustment Assistance, which aids workers who lose their jobs to foreign imports.

The Gallery at Penn College held an opening reception and gallery talk Tuesday evening for the student portfolio exhibit on display through May 7. Fourteen ornamental horticulture students along with Pennsylvania College of Technology faculty members Carl J. Bower, Dennis Fink and Dennis P. Skinner, and Melissa M. Stocum, coordinator of matriculation and retention for the School of Natural Resources Management enjoyed a beautiful and education-filled field trip to the Philadelphia area on April 29.

The Athletic Department honored its Spring 2009 student-athletes and coaches (archery, baseball, men's and women's basketball, bowling, dance, softball and men's volleyball)at a banquet in the Thompson Professional Development Center on Monday night. Coaches thanked the athletic staff and their athletes for all the hard work and dedication to their respective sports this season.
