Reveling in that summertime swing, Penn College alumni stepped up to the plate June 7, cheering on the Williamsport Crosscutters at Journey Bank Ballpark at Historic Bowman Field.
“It was wonderful to see so many of you at Alumni Night, showing your Wildcat pride as the Crosscutters took on the Mahoning Valley Scrappers – and won!” enthused Lori A. Boos, alumni and career engagement manager, in a communique to alumni following the evening. “The game was a blast, and we loved seeing all your Penn College gear. Your presence made the event an enormous success, and we genuinely appreciate you taking the time to connect with Alumni Relations and your fellow Wildcats.”
Penn College softball athletes Mackenzi Tice and Payton Crawford joined the gathering, with Tice throwing out an impressive ceremonial first pitch.

Performing the honors of the ceremonial first pitch is Wildcat softball player Mackenzi Tice. (And yes, that's Boomer, the Crosscutters' mascot, ready to catch!)
Four lucky alumni won prizes: Angela Lee, ’17, nursing, won lottery scratch-off tickets in a Crosscutters contest; Mike Williams, ’13, electronics and computer engineering technology, won four Hersheypark tickets; Wayne Burke, ’85, forest technology, won a $20 gift card to the Cutters Store; and Justin Smith, ’08, construction management, won the alumni prize pack.
“Sticking around for the dazzling fireworks display after the game was the perfect end to a fun evening,” Boos said.
Alumni are encouraged to join the Alumni Tomorrow Makers Program, a vital part of empowering and recruiting tomorrow’s workforce. Alumni in the volunteer program contribute in several ways, including advocating for the college via social media, networking with current students and recruiting prospective students.
Another key networking event on the horizon is Wildcat Weekend, set for Sept. 19-21. All alumni should save the date!
