Admissions

Transfer Students

There's no one way to transfer. And every situation is unique.

Make Your Move

If either of the following apply to you, you’re considered a transfer student at Penn College:

  • You took college classes after high school, but didn't earn a degree.
  • You completed an associate's degree or higher.

Click to expand 1, 2, or 3 below.

The first step toward transferring to Penn College is to submit an application. There is no fee to apply.

APPLY FOR ADMISSION

College Transcripts

Ask all previously attended colleges to send your official transcripts to the Admissions Office at Penn College. An official transcript must come directly from the previous college to Penn College.

If you’re still enrolled at another college or university, send us a partial, unofficial transcript showing your in-progress coursework now. This can often be retrieved from your college's student information system/student portal or Registrar's Office. The transcript must show your name, school name, courses you’re enrolled in or have completed, and grades, if applicable. Screenshots will not be accepted. Then before you enroll have your school send us an official, final transcript reflecting all completed coursework and your earned degree, if applicable.

High School/GED Transcript

If you have not completed an associate’s degree or higher at the time of application to Penn College, we will also need one of the following:

  • Your high school transcript. Ask your former high school to submit your official, final transcript with proof of graduation date.
  • Your official GED transcript confirming receipt of a state diploma. You can obtain your official GED transcript through the Department of Education in the state from which your GED was received. In Pennsylvania, use www.diplomasender.com.
  • Your Official HiSET high school equivalency credentials, as determined by your state's department of education.

Where to Have Materials Sent

Admissions, DIF 119
Pennsylvania College of Technology
One College Ave.
Williamsport, PA 17701

Materials can be sent through an electronic sending service like Parchment, eSCRIPTS, or National Student Clearinghouse.

Our programs are rigorous, which is why you’ll need to show you're up for the challenge. Think of it as an assessment of your current skills in math and English to determine your best path forward to succeed in your intended major. If you've earned an associate’s degree or higher, you are exempt from the English placement test. And like many transfer students, you might already meet placement requirements through transfer credit.
