After its first team competition of the season a week ago at the U.S. Indoor East Regional in Harrisonburg, Va., the Pennsylvania College of Technology archery team established itself as one of if not the best in the nation this year. Winning individual indoor national championships were Danny Wido (Shickshinny) in men's compound and Glen Thomas (Mercer) in men's recurve.

The six graduating seniors on the Penn College men's volleyball team Brad Bell, Andrew Epley, Colin Grube, Jared Palko, Philip Reist and Matthew Stoltz all were honored by head coach Wes Strayer prior to their Saturday game against an alumni squad. Bell, a graphic design major from Harrisburg, is in his fourth season for the Wildcats.

Pennsylvania College of Technology baseball and softball teams got their seasons under way with 13 games in Myrtle Beach, S.C., while two wrestlers representing the college got their first taste of national competition.

The Penn College archery team hosted a Youth Fun Day at the Field House at 6 p.m. Thursday, March 3. More than 25 young archers from the Youth Hunter Education Challenge attended the activity, which included the first-ever Penn College Pro/Am. The archery team set up three stations for nine teams (one college archer and three youths from the YHEC group).

Two Pennsylvania College of Technology wrestlers compete for national titles in Macon, Ga., this week, while the college's softball and baseball teams are set to begin their seasons at spring training in Myrtle Beach, S.C.

For the first time in his 10 seasons as coach, Roger Harris and his Pennsylvania College of Technology women's softball team will go to Myrtle Beach, S.C., for spring training and he couldn't be more delighted.

Four Penn College athletes were among those spotlighted when the United States Collegiate Athletic Association announced its end-of-season men's and women's basketball awards, including All-American and All-Academic teams. Junior Leroy Joiner (Williamsport) earned men's basketball first-team All-American status, while senior Greg Solyak (Lititz) was named an honorable mention.

As schoolchildren nationwide gathered for Read Across America programs in observance of Dr. Seuss's birthday Wednesday, 11 Penn College student-athletes went to Williamsport's Sheridan Elementary School for the third annual "Reading with the Wildcats" initiative.
