Chelsey L. Wayman, an accounting major from Rome, was chosen as April's Student of the Month by the Student Government Association at Pennsylvania College of Technology. "Chelsey has been indispensible to TRiO Student Support Services, where she is a peer tutor and coach," her nominator wrote of the Spring 2009 semester's final honoree.

For the second year in a row, a student in the Athens Area School District who will attend Pennsylvania College of Technology after graduation has been selected as the recipient of the Peggy Madigan Memorial Leadership Scholarship. A selection committee has chosen Matthew J. Delp, RR2 Ulster, as the 2009 recipient of the scholarship award, named in honor of the late wife of former state Sen.

Graduation ceremonies were held on May 15 for the medical (office) assistant program at the North Campus of Pennsylvania College of Technology. The legacy of Kenneth E. Carl who was an instructor when Pennsylvania College of Technology forerunner Williamsport Technical Institute was founded and later became its director and the first president of Williamsport Area Community College continues with the graduation of his grandson from the college on May 15. The New Choices/New Options program in Career Services is recruiting single parents, single pregnant women and displaced homemakers. NC/NO offers career-development services including (but not limited to) resume-writing, interview skills, stress management, goal-setting and assessments. Program completers are eligible to apply for tuition assistance and/or textbook-cost reimbursement.

Seventeen Pennsylvania College of Technology students who plan to graduate during the 2009 calendar year were presented with Penn College Awards during a Thursday banquet at Le Jeune Chef Restaurant.
