Five radiography students at Pennsylvania College of Technology recently participated in a competition showcasing their curricular and technical knowledge. The five students were selected by their classmates to represent the Penn College Radiography Class of 2010 in a "technibowl" a quiz competition held at Penn State Milton S.

Students enrolled in the human services major at Pennsylvania College of Technology will host an event Nov. 4 to offer organizational help to caregivers and their loved ones. As part of the Service Learning in Sociology course, taught by LaRue R.

The Penn College student chapter of the American Welding Society recently toured the Shady Grove manufacturing facility of Manitowoc Cranes, thanks to company representatives Jacob Sensinger and Sammy Munuswamy. The students were able to see all aspects of the mobile crane manufacturer.

Baking and pastry arts students at Pennsylvania College of Technology benefited recently from a visit to campus by a master in the craft of artisan bread baking, who helped to judge students' original raisin-bread creations. The visit and contest were sponsored by the California Raisin Marketing Board.

A new exhibition of student work is on display in the Bookmarks at the Madigan Library. The exhibit features brochure covers completed for the Advanced Computer Graphics course taught this semester by Gary R. DiPalma, assistant professor of graphic design. The students created brochure designs for a man-made object; each brochure was divided into three sections.

Students and alumni looking for postgraduate jobs or valuable internships were encouraged to attend Penn College's Fall 2009 Career Fair, held Oct. 20-21 in Penn's Inn on the second floor of the Bush Campus Center.

Pennsylvania College of Technology will offer a Veterans Transition Services Information Session on Nov. 11 for Penn College veterans, veterans returning from deployment, their families and the general public. The program hosted by Veterans Affairs, Career Services, Counseling Services and Disability Services at Penn College will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m.

It is with great sadness that the administration announces the death of student Mark J. Goss, a 20-year-old sophomore in the electronics and computer engineering technology major, from Wall, N.J. His body was discovered in his off-campus apartment overnight. The cause of death is under investigation, according to the Lycoming County coroner.

James C. Gorham, of Mill Hall, has been chosen by Pennsylvania College of Technology's Student Government Association's as the first Student of the Month of the Fall 2009 semester. Gorham, a senior in the college's four-year plastics and polymer engineering technology major, is the vice president of the Society of Plastics Engineers.
