Students at Pennsylvania College of Technology were among community groups that made soup and bowls for Central Pennsylvania Food Bank’s sold-out “Soup and a Bowl” fundraiser, held Feb. 19 in Williamsport. The event, celebrating its 10th anniversary, features a variety of soups, breads and desserts. In addition to lunch, guests leave with a soup bowl donated by a local potter.

Making a powerful visual statement, 22 Penn College veterans represent the number of servicemen and women lost to suicide each day. Gwendolyn A. Saluting a helpful neighbor As Tuesday's two-hour weather delay turned into an all-out closing of Penn College, students and employees joined other area residents in cleaning up the sloppy mix of overnight snow and persistent morning rain. Among those pitching in was Shawn A.

Each day, 22 American veterans commit suicide. Penn College and its student, staff and faculty veterans are proud to join Mission 22, a vital campaign that calls attention to that tragic statistic and provides hope to those suffering on the homefront. Penn College is honored to be a Military Friendly School and stands behind all veterans and their service to this country.

Demonstrating its desire to help keep the community healthy, the Student Nurses’ Association at Pennsylvania College of Technology recently led a hat, glove and scarf drive to benefit clients of The New Love Center in Jersey Shore. The center provides weekday lunches, a food pantry and other services in the Jersey Shore area.

Daniel G. Curtin, a manufacturing engineering technology major from Berwick, has been chosen as the February Student of the Month at Pennsylvania College of Technology. Affiliated with the Bison Battalion, the Bucknell University-based ROTC program that includes Penn College, Curtin served two years as captain of the Color Guard team and one term as president of Cadet Council.
