Enrolling in the exercise science major at Penn College proved to be the right prescription for Zachary N. Austin, who sought to develop skills he could use to help people. A student in the baking and pastry arts major at Pennsylvania College of Technology was awarded a $3,500 scholarship from the Pennsylvania Farm Show Scholarship Foundation. Paige E. Pearson, of Williamsburg, was among 28 Farm Show Scholarship recipients. Her award was presented Jan. 12 at the Farm Show by Scott Sechler, owner of Bell & Evans, and Pennsylvania Rep. Judy Ward, R-Blair County.

Emma J. Sutterlin, an applied health studies: occupational therapy assistant concentration major from State College, has been chosen as the December/January "Student of the Month" at Pennsylvania College of Technology. A Resident Assistant in on-campus housing and a “Link” in Penn College’s Connections orientation program, Sutterlin is a 2013 graduate of State College Area High School.
