Penn College forest technology majors are among a select group of students nationwide employing a new data-collection application from Forest Metrix. The software, used in conjunction with an iPad, is featured in a video on the college's YouTube Channel. "It records all the data you need it to. It will record the diameter of the tree, how big it is and how tall it is," explains Alyssa A.

Stormie B. Mauck has yet to earn her Bachelor of Science degree in legal assistant/paralegal studies, but the Pennsylvania College of Technology student already has a full-time job at a Williamsport law firm and is lending her expertise to two Lycoming County task forces – one focused on elder abuse and the other on heroin.

Pennsylvania College of Technology’s Robert & Maureen Dunham Children’s Learning Center received a grant that will help subsidize the cost of child care for eligible parents who are pursuing higher education at the college. The CCAMPIS grant, which stands for Child Care Access Means Parents in School, is funded by the U.S. Department of Education.
The Pennsylvania College of Technology Woodsmen’s Team competed in the 20th annual John G. Palmer Intercollegiate Woodsmen’s Meet held recently at The Cradle of Forestry in North Carolina. Penn College fielded one of seven teams to compete during the Oct. 17 meet that was hosted by Haywood Community College at the U.S. Forest Service site in Pisgah National Forest.

Victory Media, a veteran-owned business that compiles data-driven ratings to assist service members in choosing post-military education and career pursuits, today named Penn College a 2016 Military Friendly School.
