The Student Nurses' Association teamed up with six other campus organizations and Student Activities to raise about $1,800 at Tuesday's "Penn College for a Cure" cancer benefit walk. Joining SNA in the successful collaboration were Circle K, PC Alliance, the Penn College Construction Association, Omega Delta Sigma and Phi Mu Delta fraternities, and Wildcat Events Board.

He’s going to be missed by his Penn College family, but the days of worry-free retirement are calling. Pennsylvania College of Technology’s Bachelor of Science Nursing Honor Society was officially chartered as a chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International during a ceremony on the college’s campus on April 12. Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing was founded in 1922. The founders chose its name for the Greek words storgé, tharsos and timé, meaning love, courage and honor.

Students from Penn College’s School of Nursing & Health Sciences and School of Sciences, Humanities & Visual Communications joined area law enforcement, emergency management and health care professionals in a recent simulation at UPMC Susquehanna Williamsport Regional Medical Center and a variety of other locations.

Kaitlyn L. Andersen, a nursing major from Mastic, New York, has been chosen as the “Student of the Month” at Pennsylvania College of Technology. Andersen is a two-year member of the Student Nurses’ Association, currently serving as the organization’s vice president. “She is a hard worker and earns good grades,” her faculty/staff nominator said.

More than 400 high school students, all enrolled in Penn College classes at their respective high school or career and technology center, visited campus on Friday. A visit to campus is a required part of every course offered through the college’s Penn College NOW dual-enrollment program.

Building construction has been added to the abounding schedule of pre-college initiatives offered at Pennsylvania College of Technology, hands-on summer activities that mirror the nationally renowned opportunities afforded postsecondary students.

Jonathan Adzema, a 2014 Penn College nursing graduate who is pursuing a master’s degree to become a certified registered nurse anesthetist, returned to campus Monday to talk with current students who may be interested in entering the advanced practice.

Pennsylvania College of Technology will begin exploring the addition of a second master’s degree to its slate of academic offerings. The Penn College Board of Directors on Thursday authorized the college administration to begin developing the curriculum for a Master of Science in Nursing.
