A Pennsylvania College of Technology student enrolled in the college’s Ford ASSET major and working at a Tioga County dealership has received a $5,000 scholarship from the Pennsylvania Automotive Association. Derek T. Dreps, of Liberty, was presented with a check in the Parkes Automotive Technology Center in late May.

Allan Myers Inc., a heavy civil construction and construction materials company operating throughout the Mid-Atlantic region, will contribute an additional $50,000 annually to a scholarship it established previously at Pennsylvania College of Technology. Preference for the Allan Myers Scholarship is given to full-time Penn College students who are employees/family members of Allan Myers Inc.

Spurred by a local merchant and setting a blistering pace for fundraising, the Student Government Association at Pennsylvania College of Technology met its 2018-19 goal of purchasing a bicycle repair station for the Rose Street Apartments housing complex.

Pennsylvania College of Technology celebrated the contributions and commitment of its staff and faculty during an Employee Recognition Week gathering on May 16.

This fall, when Pennsylvania College of Technology opens its expanded welding lab facility – one that will enable enrollment of up to 60 more future welders annually – students in the popular program will hone their skills on industry-standard equipment they are sure to encounter on the job.

Seventeen years. Fifteen-hundred students. Four different homes. Countless exams. He’s seen it all. And now SimMan is ready to retire. He’s going to be missed by his Penn College family, but the days of worry-free retirement are calling. "I have helped so many students prepare to treat patients leading into their successful health care careers," SimMan said in his exit interview.

Pennsylvania College of Technology’s new synthetic-turf athletic field will bear the name “UPMC Field,” courtesy of a commitment from UPMC Susquehanna that enhances the partnership between the college and the health system. Penn College and UPMC Susquehanna have long enjoyed a mutually beneficial relationship.

The Keystone Region Chapter of the Studebaker Drivers Club has established a $25,000 endowed scholarship fund to benefit students enrolled in the automotive restoration technology program at Pennsylvania College of Technology.

The empowering combination of applied technology education and financial support was celebrated Sunday afternoon, as Pennsylvania College of Technology hosted its second annual Scholarship Luncheon in the campus Field House. "I am overwhelmed by the collective energies in this room to transform tomorrow," President Davie Jane Gilmour said, addressing students, families and donors alike.
