Pennsylvania College of Technology faculty members Dr. Joseph E. LeBlanc and Mary Jo Saxe were presented with Excellence in Teaching Awards during spring commencement ceremonies at the Community Arts Center in Williamsport.

Pennsylvania College of Technology presented "Distinguished Staff" and "Part-Time Teaching Excellence" awards today, while also honoring retirees and the newest members of the College's "Quarter-Century Club." The honors were bestowed at an Employee Recognition Week Reception held at Penn's Inn in the Bush Campus Center at Penn College.

(May 2004 - The following is drawn from remarks by Dr. Gilmour during a May 13 College-wide meeting to close the Spring 2004 semester.) Good morning. To say this has been a year filled with challenges and opportunities would be an understatement.

Pennsylvania College of Technology's two television series, its quarterly magazine and a promotional poster all produced through the Office of College Information& Community Relations received honors recently in three national competitions.

Carolyn Strickland, director of student activities at Pennsylvania College of Technology, was awarded the Outstanding Service Citation by the National Association for Campus Activities at its recent national convention in Cincinnati.

Pennsylvania College of Technology and the Penn College Education Association have agreed to extend their current labor contract through 2006-07. The Penn College Board of Directors approved the extension the second one enacted for an agreement that initially was approved in August 2000. A previous extension was ratified in February 2002.

Dr. D. Robert Cooley, assistant professor of anthropology/environmental science at Pennsylvania College of Technology, will present a program entitled "Applying Ecological Anthropology: Studying the Ecological Knowledge of Commercial Blue Crab Fishermen" on Tuesday, March 2, at the College Library.

Patricia J. Martin, clinical director of the Occupational Therapy Assistant program in the School of Health Sciences at Pennsylvania College of Technology, has been appointed to the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education. ACOTE is a 16-member national body that accredits professional and technical levels of occupational therapy education in the United States.

The American Dental Education Association, the leading organization for dental education in the United States and Canada, will award a 2004 Presidential Citation to Kathleen E. Morr of Pennsylvania College of Technology. The honor, bestowed by ADEA President Dr. Paula K.
