Dr. Jacob R. Miller, associate professor of computer science in the School of Business and Computer Technologies at Pennsylvania College of Technology, has been included in the seventh edition of "Who's Who Among America's Teachers," a publication paying tribute to America's most respected educators. Miller was nominated for the award by a student.

Paul W. Howe, a faculty member in the School of Business and Computer Technologies at Pennsylvania College of Technology, will speak at the Diving Equipment and Marketing Association's national convention in Las Vegas on Oct. 21.

Brenda G. Abplanalp of Wellsboro has been named director of outreach services at Pennsylvania College of Technology's North Campus. Abplanalp, a lifelong resident of Tioga County, has more than 15 years' professional experience in education and nursing and more than 11 years' experience in management in the private sector.

Dr. Vinay Bahl, an associate professor of sociology at Pennsylvania College of Technology, has been invited to serve as a guest scholar at College de France in Paris. Dr. Bahl's yearlong appointment begins Sept. 1. She will be one of just eight educators chosen for the prestigious honor.

Chef Paul Mach, a faculty member at Pennsylvania College of Technology and co-host of the College's award-winning "You're the Chef" cooking series seen nationally on public television, served as a judge recently in the 2002 New York Wine & Food Classic competition in New York City.

The Community Arts Center Board of Governors has honored Pennsylvania College of Technology Senior Vice President Dr. William J. Martin with a "Vision Award" for his efforts in the renovation of the Arts Center and his ongoing support of the facility.

The Master Teacher Award, the highest level of recognition accorded to a Pennsylvania College of Technology faculty member, was presented today to Dale A. Metzker, an associate professor of printing and publishing who is retiring after a 39-year career with Penn College and its two predecessor institutions.
