One of Pennsylvania College of Technology’s largest academic schools, the School of Health Sciences, has a new dean, assistant dean and assistant dean of nursing. Sandra L. Richmond Sandra L. Richmond, formerly assistant dean of nursing, has been appointed dean of the school. She succeeds Edward A. Henninger, who becomes special assistant to the provost, taking on project-based work.

Pennsylvania College of Technology recently appointed Beth M. Bittenbender as operations/special projects director for Workforce Development & Continuing Education at Penn College, which partners with companies to provide short-term training and project support.

Carol A. Lugg has been appointed dean of the School of Construction & Design Technologies at Pennsylvania College of Technology. Lugg has been assistant dean of construction and design technologies since February 2015, playing an instrumental role in securing a $1 million National Science Foundation S-STEM grant that provides scholarship and research opportunities for the school. Pennsylvania College of Technology held its Fall 2017 graduation ceremony at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 16, in the Community Arts Center, closing out the calendar year with a seasonal observance of academic achievement. The student speaker was Garrett Davis Corneliussen, of Hickory, North Carolina, who received a Bachelor of Science degree in welding and fabrication engineering technology.

Hundreds of thousands of visitors will soon flock to the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex & Expo Center to celebrate the commonwealth’s leading industry, and Pennsylvania College of Technology students and employees will be on hand for an interactive peek into the real-world applications of “degrees that work.”

When Robert A. Wozniak Jr. couldn’t find a suitable book for a sustainable building materials course he was teaching at Pennsylvania College of Technology – “nothing that I saw was quite what I was looking for” – he set out on a two-year mission to fill that vacuum.
