Penn College employees have moved into the Millionaire's Society, recognizing $1 million-plus in co-worker contributions. President Davie Jane Gilmour announces that total employee contributions to the Penn College Fund have topped $1.1 million.

Three commencement ceremonies will be held May 17-18 for the nearly 900 Pennsylvania College of Technology students who have petitioned to graduate following the Spring 2013 semester. All ceremonies will be conducted in the Community Arts Center, Williamsport. At 3 p.m.

One of Pennsylvania College of Technology’s most intriguing new majors, in which the iconic automobiles of yesterday meet the students of today, is the topic for the next Madigan Library Forum. “The Horseless Carriage Meets Auto Restoration at Penn College” will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, April 26, in Room 102 of the library on the college’s main campus in Williamsport.

Michael A. Forgione has been hired as director for the ShaleNET Eastern Region Hub based at Pennsylvania College of Technology. ShaleNET is a federally funded consortium initiative that develops and standardizes credit and noncredit education and training programs to serve high-demand occupations in the oil and natural gas industry. Last fall, Penn College was awarded a $15 million U.S.

John W. “J.J.” Magyar II, a part-time/substitute faculty member in Pennsylvania College of Technology’s paramedic technology program, recently completed the requirements to maintain his designation as a Chief Fire Officer by the Center for Public Safety Excellence. In addition to his work at Penn College, Magyar serves the Montgomery Volunteer Fire Co.
