The One World Club, one of Penn College's newest student organizations, sponsored a “Stop the Violence, Keep the Peace” walk around campus Monday afternoon in support of the Asian American Pacific Islander community. Valisno, who spoke at Monday's event, has a clear message for anyone who sees Asian Americans as outliers.

Elizabeth S. Gizenski, clinical director of Pennsylvania College of Technology’s surgical technology program, recently earned a Doctor of Healthcare Administration degree from Walden University.

Thirty-three Pennsylvania College of Technology students were welcomed Saturday afternoon into the Pennsylvania Xi Chapter of Alpha Chi, a national honor society for those seeking bachelor's degrees, during an in-person event that also celebrated an equal number of 2020 inductees who were deprived of official recognition a year ago due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The artistic talents of 21 graphic design seniors at Pennsylvania College of Technology will be showcased in “Graphic Design 2021,” the annual student portfolio exhibition in The Gallery at Penn College. Running April 26 through May 7, the exhibit can be viewed in person at the gallery, which is open 2 to 8 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesdays and Fridays.

Two retired faculty members at Pennsylvania College of Technology – each with decades of service to the institution – have been granted “emeritus” status. The Penn College Board of Directors on Thursday authorized the faculty emeritus designation for Eric K. Albert, associate professor of automated manufacturing and engineering, who began his employment with the college in 1991, and Chef Craig A.

A number of events, free and open to the entire campus, marked Penn College's annual observance of Pride Week (April 19-23). Activities celebrating the LGBTQ+ community and its allies featured a flag-raising in the Hager Lifelong Education Center Loop on Monday and a silent auction of handmade items in the Bush Campus Center on Thursday.

An oft-recorded standard from America's songbook romanticizes "April in Paris," and poet Robert Browning waxed poetically, "O, to be in England now that April's there." At PCToday, we see no need to travel to Europe – or anywhere else, pandemic or no – during this merry month of reawakening, as the sights of the season are plenty gorgeous in our Penn College backyard.
