Laurie K. Kiss, an assistant professor of mathematics, died Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2021, at the age of 54. Kiss, characterized as a "lifelong learner who shared her passion for learning by teaching," was a member of the Penn College faculty since the Fall 2009 semester. She also served as a co-adviser to the college chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa honor society for associate degree students.

Local businesses can learn about creating and marketing a brand – and get to know Penn College in the process – during a virtual workshop at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 9. First in a planned series of community events covering a variety of topics, the session features Tammy M. Rich, associate professor of business administration/management/event management, and several of her students.

Georgia T. Grey, clinical director for Pennsylvania College of Technology’s radiography program, recently earned a Master of Education in higher education from Penn State. Grey, a registered radiologic technologist, joined the Penn College radiography program as a clinical supervisor in 2015. She is also the radiation safety officer for the college.

American Red Cross Blood Services collected 137 pints at Penn College's Bush Campus Center on Tuesday and Wednesday, shattering the 96-unit goal for the two-day visit. Each donation potentially helps three patients, which amounts to as many as 411 lives saved by the college community's collective thoughtfulness.
