The Penn College community will be well-represented at "The Music of Billtown," a benefit concert in memory of longtime Billtown Blues Association member and freelance photographer Susan Bacchieri, to begin at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Community Arts Center. High school students from school districts far and wide visited Penn College's campuses to learn about potential careers through a full Friday of exciting hands-on activities and informative tours. The college's Outreach for K-12 Office each fall organizes Career Day for students in 10th through 12th grades; a similar event for seventh- to ninth-graders is held every spring.

Current job opportunities and issues in the accounting field will be among the topics addressed in a discussion sponsored by Pennsylvania College of Technology's Accounting Society and faculty from the college's School of Business and Computer Technologies. The second annual Floor Pong tournament, organized by Campus View Resident Assistant Ashlin R. Hollinger, was held Wednesday night in the Field House. An Open House at Pennsylvania College of Technology − a special mission affiliate of The Pennsylvania State University − will be held Sunday, Oct. 25, enabling prospective students, their families and friends to learn more about the college, its academic programs and facilities. Coaching from the sidelines of the Campus Center lawn, Career Services staff served more than 200 students at the Pre-Game Tailgate to the Career Fair from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Tuesday. Nearly $900 for student scholarships was raised by the Homecoming Court leading up to this past weekend, a campuswide celebration that was enjoyed by hundreds of people from the Penn College community. The Penn College Motorsports Association co-hosted its fourth biannual autocross with the Sports Car Club of America Northeastern Region this past weekend. The event, held at Brodart Co. on Arch Street, is a skill contest that emphasizes drivers' ability and their cars' characteristics.
