More than 700 students and their advisers from area schools traveled to Penn College's main campus Thursday for the Future Business Leaders of America Region 7 conference.

Pennsylvania College of Technology held its Winter Commencement ceremony Saturday, Dec. 19, at the Community Arts Center in Williamsport. The student speaker was Micah A. Pennsylvania College of Technology will host a variety of activities at the 2010 Pennsylvania Farm Show, to be held Jan. 9-16 in Harrisburg. Representatives of the Admissions and Alumni Relations offices will be available throughout the week at the Penn College display booth in the Farm Show Complex & Expo Center, 2300 N.

A group of Pennsylvania College of Technology students helped to raise $3,000 for the world's poor through a recent fair-trade craft sale. Students pursuing bachelor's degrees in applied human services organized and staffed an on-campus sale of handmade goods from around the world through an organization known as Ten Thousand Villages.

Works by baking and pastry arts students at Pennsylvania College of Technology were auctioned to raise more than $1,600 for Greater Lycoming Habitat for Humanity during the School of Hospitality's annual Food Show on Dec. 4. The centerpiece of the fundraising effort was a silent auction of 12 chocolate houses created by students in the Principles of Chocolate Works course.

More than 300 high school students, along with members of the local and Pennsylvania College of Technology community, turned out Dec. 4 to visit the School of Hospitality’s annual Food Show, which showcased students’ final projects.

Parents, grandparents and special friends of youngsters attending Penn College's Children's Learning Center enjoyed a buffet breakfast and/or lunch as part of Parent Appreciation Day in Penn's Inn on Friday. The center holds the event a seasonal celebration of thanks and joy as the holidays approach and each fall's semester draws to an end.

Pennsylvania College of Technology will hold a commencement ceremony on Saturday, Dec. 19, for the more than 350 students who have petitioned to graduate following the Fall 2009 semester. The ceremony will begin at 11 a.m. in the Community Arts Center, 220 W. Fourth St., Williamsport. The student speaker will be Micah A.

Nearly 100 people attended a recent Inspection Authorization renewal seminar at Penn College's Lumley Aviation Center. Aviation maintenance technicians with an Airframe and Powerplant certificate and at least two years' experience can receive inspection authorization from the Federal Aviation Administration.
