Real-life kitchen management skills are part of the educational experience for students in Pennsylvania College of Technology’s culinary arts majors, who serve as student managers in the college’s on-campus restaurant, and sometimes off-site. On Saturday, Sept. 24, second-year culinary arts technology student Dylan C.

A member of Pennsylvania College of Technology’s Board of Directors and his wife, an alumna of the legal assistant/paralegal studies program, have established a fully endowed scholarship at the college. The Steve and Mary Ann Johnson Scholarship will benefit students who are enrolled full time; have served in the U.S.

Susan Slamka, assistant professor of human services/psychology at Pennsylvania College of Technology, has attained licensure as a psychologist in Pennsylvania and recently completed one year of full-time clinical service at the Children’s Development Center, a division of Hope Enterprises Inc., in Williamsport. The accomplishments were achieved during Slamka’s 2015-16 sabbatical.

Before they headed back to elementary school, a group of children at Pennsylvania College of Technology’s Dunham Children’s Learning Center got a hands-on taste of the technical world, exploring how things are made. Children tour the automated manufacturing lab, where Penn College students use industry-standard equipment to prepare them for careers in manufacturing engineering.

Tom Giannattasio has been fascinated with design since childhood, an interest led him to a bachelor's degree in graphic design from Penn College. After graduating in 2006, he worked as a software designer for the likes of Apple and Twitter before creating his own web-design tool, Macaw. Today, Giannattasio is director of product, design tools at InVision App in Washington, D.C.

"Working Class" The premiere episode of “Working Class,” a public television series produced by Pennsylvania College of Technology and WVIA Public Media, has earned a 2016 Telly Award. The series was honored with a bronze award statue and certificate. The Telly Award is acknowledged as a premier award for film and video productions, including outstanding local, regional and cable programming.
