The first cohort of culinary arts students completing a three-semester associate degree at Pennsylvania College of Technology recently put their skills to the test as each developed a full dinner menu – and served as chef de cuisine – in the college’s Le Jeune Chef Restaurant.

An adjunct faculty member at Pennsylvania College of Technology was chosen as a finalist for Pennsylvania State Teacher of the Year. Gerry G. Kaplan – who teaches part time in advertising art at Penn College – was recognized for his work at Loyalsock Township School District, where he teaches a variety of art media. Gerry G.

Among offerings: mushroom and Fontina phyllo cups, a fruit platter, deviled eggs and a decoratively presented bacon ranch cheese ball. Delicious work stands ready and waiting. An in-person commencement ceremony will be held Saturday, Dec. 18, for the 320 students who have petitioned to graduate at Pennsylvania College of Technology following the Fall 2021 semester. The ceremony, in which more than 220 students are expected to march, will be held at 11 a.m. at the Community Arts Center.

Deans Council at Pennsylvania College of Technology, which resolutely navigated COVID-19's challenges while organizationally downsizing, this week celebrated the successful completion of a 12-month professional-development activity focused on collaborative leadership.

What began as a way to connect creatively during the pandemic has resulted in four impressive wood sculptures being donated to Pennsylvania College of Technology.
