During Child Abuse Prevention Month in April, “pinwheel gardens” have been popping up around the country in an effort to bring awareness to child abuse, and a local display of pinwheels recently arose in a field next to the Old Lycoming Township Volunteer Fire Co.

Through an on-campus Volunteer Income Tax Assistance site, students in Pennsylvania College of Technology’s accounting major and the business administration: banking & finance major helped members of the Greater Williamsport community to file 195 tax returns, with a total of $238,036 in federal tax refunds and $7,135 in state tax refunds.

On the 52nd annual Earth Day, Pennsylvania College of Technology hailed a phenomenon only slightly younger: the Schneebeli Earth Science Center, home to memories, marvels and the makers of a million tomorrows. Observing the milestone golden anniversary of the Allenwood area campus on a beautiful spring afternoon, attendees reveled in "this special place" known as the ESC.

The talents of 11 graphic design seniors at Pennsylvania College of Technology will be in the spotlight with “Graphic Design 2022,” the annual student portfolio exhibition in The Gallery at Penn College, April 26 through May 6. A reception will be celebrated 4 to 6 p.m. (with remarks at 5 p.m.) on Friday, April 29, in the gallery on the third floor of The Madigan Library.

A crew of students in Pennsylvania College of Technology’s hospitality majors is set to help feed the tens of thousands expected to attend the 148th running of the Kentucky Derby in Louisville, Kentucky, on May 7. The Kentucky Derby, often called “the most exciting two minutes in sports,” is the longest continually held sporting event in the United States and typically draws about 155,000 guests.
