On Friday, Nov. 12, Penn College's Accounting Society took an educational trip to the Yuengling Brewing Co. in Pottsville. "We began with a tour of the facilities; it was a great tour," said Shannon Killian, society president, who also provided the group photo at left. Students at Pennsylvania College of Technology will auction their works to benefit Greater Lycoming Habitat for Humanity during the School of Hospitality's annual Food Show and Chocolate House Auction on Dec. 3.

Twenty-four students and three chaperones from Berks Career and Technology Center visited Pennsylvania College of Technology on Wednesday, getting tailor-made exposure to the hands-on core of the institution's reputation. The personalized instruction came courtesy of Bahram Golshan, an associate professor of computer science, and had its roots in a request to Penn College's Admissions Office.

The service will be Friday morning for Gideon J. Wray, an assistant professor of business administration/accounting in Penn College's School of Business and Computer Technologies, who died Thursday, Oct. 28.

The School of Hospitality hosted Austrian wine expert Andreas Wickhoff on Penn College's main campus this week. Throughout his stay, Wickhoff talked with classes about wine pairing and the flavors and origins of Austrian wine. Wickhoff, managing director of Premium Estates of Austria, travels the world to promote wines of Austria's top producers.

A "Passport to Opportunity" for high school students potentially interested in the accounting profession will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 5, in Pennsylvania College of Technology's Bush Campus Center.

More than 45 Penn College graduates and their guests joined Chef Paul Mach, assistant professor of hospitality management/culinary arts, on the Alumni Relations Office's fourth annual bus trip to the Keuka Lake Wineries on Saturday.

Students from Pennsylvania College of Technology will serve food samples made with fresh, local ingredients at the Williamsport Outdoor Growers Market on Oct. 23.
