During the Central Susquehanna Association for the Education of Young Children's annual conference, held March 31 on Pennsylvania College of Technology's campus, the group named a Lycoming/Clinton Head Start teacher and Penn College alumna its "2007 Outstanding Early Educator." The honor was awarded to Debbie Kennedy, of Williamsport, who works in Lycoming/Clinton Head Start's Becht No.

Miriam C. Crane, who died with her two children in a weekend fire at her Forksville home, was a graduate (August 2003 and December 2004) of Penn College's nursing program, the Nursing Department and the Alumni Relations Office announce.

The Penn College community joins in tribute to Army National Guard Sgt. 1st Class Sean Michael Thomas, an alumnus who was killed in a rocket explosion inIraq on Tuesday. Thomas, a 1992 graduate of Hughesville High School, was a member of the Wildcat tennis team and earned an associate degree in general studies at Penn College in May 1995.

A Penn College culinary arts alumnus is one of four competitors in "Fantasy Fruit Sculptures" the latest Food Network Challenge on the popular cable channel. With his recent donation of precision-tooled items and other personal effects to the Pennsylvania College of Technology archives, Donald W. Stout has touched all three chapters of the institution's history as a student, a mentor and, now, as a benefactor. "We are so pleased that Don has donated some of his tools to the college to be placed in the archives at the Madigan Library," said Barbara A.

Two more Pennsylvania College of Technology alumni have been state-certified as horticulturists on the basis of their performance in a recent four-part examination. Kurt M. Boyer, of Lebanon, and Karl F. Womer, of Bloomsburg both of whom recently graduated with associate degrees in landscape/nursery technology passed the Pennsylvania Certified Horticulturist test.

In commencement ceremonies Saturday at the Community Arts Center in Williamsport, Pennsylvania College of Technology presented a Distinguished Citizenship/Humanitarian Award to Dan Vilello and a Mentorship Award to Susquehanna Bancshares Inc./Edward Balderston Jr.
