On a rarity of late – a blustery, chilly day that added appropriate atmosphere for an event called "Winter Commencement" – Pennsylvania College of Technology held its yearend graduation ceremony at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Community Arts Center.
A plastics and polymer engineering technology graduate of Pennsylvania College of Technology has been honored for devoting his time and talent to a project enhancing access to clean water in developing countries. Jason C. Gross, of Williston, Vermont, received the Alumni Humanitarian Award at Penn College’s winter commencement ceremonies held Dec. 19 at the Community Arts Center, Williamsport.
A commencement ceremony will be held Saturday, Dec. 19, for the nearly 260 Pennsylvania College of Technology students who have petitioned to graduate after the Fall 2015 semester. The ceremony is scheduled for 11 a.m. in the Community Arts Center, 220 W. Fourth St., Williamsport.

A Pennsylvania College of Technology culinary arts alumnus, who recently returned to his hometown of Harrisburg to become executive chef for an up-and-coming “hyper-local” restaurant, visited the college to guide students in a hands-on lesson in butchering – and ultimately, sustainability. Chef Lance Smith received his bachelor’s degree from Penn College in 2006.
The past president of the nation’s largest independent honey company and his wife have endowed a scholarship for machining students at Pennsylvania College of Technology. The Kitt and Bill Gamber Scholarship will benefit full-time students enrolled in the college’s machine tool technology associate-degree major.
U.S. Rep. Tom Marino will be among the panelists for “The Future of American Foreign Policy,” the latest in Pennsylvania College of Technology’s series of topical roundtable discussions, to be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10.

The rain ceased and the smiles poured forth Sunday as the campus community flung wide its doors to potential students, their families and friends at Fall Open House. A pleasant autumn day on a beautiful campus provided the backdrop for an in-depth look at academic programs, student life and facilities.
