Two Penn College women's basketball players have received postseason honors. Erica Logan, a sophomore from Montoursville, was named to the 2008-09 Penn State University Athletic Conference All-Conference Team, while Kelsey Mack, a freshman from Douglassville, received honorable-mention recognition.

Penn College's School of Construction and Design Technologies welcomed nearly 50 architecture students from The Pennsylvania State University on Monday. Moving through workstations in the school's masonry lab, the Penn State students traveling with Ute Poerschke, associate professor in Penn State's Department of Architecture took trowels in hand to lay brick, block and stone.

More than50 students turned out Tuesday, Feb. 25, for a "What's The Deal?" forum, a program and discussion facilitated by Penn College's Community Assistants to converse about marijuana use and distribution in the campus and Williamsport communities.

Members of Penn College's athletics teams volunteered Monday at Williamsport's Sheridan Elementary School to participate in the Read Across America Day, nationwide celebration held annually around the March 2 birthday of Dr. Seuss. The student-athletes read to the children, and Bradley Robinson and Samantha Mills did a "Green Eggs and Ham" readers' theater.

Prospective students along with their families and friends can learn more about Pennsylvania College of Technology and its academic programs, facilities and campus life at an Open House scheduled for Saturday, March 28. The event will be offered from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Outstanding Resident Assistants and noteworthy student-housing activities for January/February have been announced by Pennsylvania College of Technology's Residence Life Office. Resident Assistant of the Month Bradley Jackson, an information technology: security specialist major from Warrington, was chosen for the top honor.

Alina Fernandez, a daughter of Fidel Castro who became a political dissident and eventually fled Cuba, will share her experiences in a program to be offered March 26 at Pennsylvania College of Technology. The event, which is free and open to the public, will begin at 7 p.m. in the Klump Academic Center Auditorium on the college's main campus.

Penn College's Energy Conservation Subcommittee reminds the college community to make every kilowatt count: "The greenest energy is the energy you never use, because there is no zero-polluting form of energy." Eliminating energy waste should be everyone's responsibility as Everyday Environmentalists, the subcommittee said in the latest Green Tip of the Week.
