Pennsylvania College of Technology's PA-SWAT organization Pennsylvania Students Working Against Tobacco has received $5,000 toward its ongoing anti-smoking initiatives.

Penn College's Student Government Association hosted a faculty/dean Meet and Greet on Monday night in the SASC lobby. The event offered guests great food and conversation with members of SGA and with one another. "I was very pleased with the turnout and it was a pleasure to interact with the different members of the faculty, staff and administration," reflected association President Brian D.

The funeral will be Saturday morning for William H. Ealer, who, at the time of his Feb. 14 death, was the seniormost active faculty member at Penn College. An assistant professor of architectural technology in the college's School of Construction and Design Technologies, Ealer began his teaching career at the former Williamsport Area Community College in 1965. The funeral will be at 11 a.m.

A graduating member of the Wildcat bowling team was honored during a recent Senior Night presentation at Faxon Lanes in Loyalsock Township. Merle E. Burkhart Jr., an automotive service technician major from Lancaster, joined his parents and coach Deb Vincenzes for public acknowledgement. Student-athletes are spotlighted in each of Penn College's varsity sports throughout the season.

A professor at the Institute of Technology in Carlow, Ireland, recently spent two days with faculty and students at Pennsylvania College of Technology. On Feb. 16, Paul Gibbons toured the college's Lumley Aviation Center in Montoursville and enjoyed an informal luncheon with faculty. In addition, he met with Walter V.

Pennsylvania College of Technology men's and women's basketball teams return to the Penn State University Athletic Conference playoffs for the second year in a row, and both are poised to do some damage. The Penn College men , 16-9 overall and 14-3 in the conference, are seeded fourth and host fifth-seeded Penn State DuBois (17-8, 13-4) at 8 p.m. Thursday at Bardo Gymnasium.

Dental hygiene students and faculty from Pennsylvania College of Technology teamed with volunteer dental hygienists and dentists to provide free oral screenings, sealants, fluoride treatments and education for 65 children as part of the Pennsylvania Dental Hygienists' Association's statewide Sealant Saturday program on Feb. 7.

A student-sponsored gospel concert, free and open to the public, will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, in the Klump Academic Center on Pennsylvania College of Technology's main campus in Williamsport. The event, which features a variety of performances, is sponsored by the college's Multicultural Society.

A family known for its popular businesses in downtown Williamsport will be providing financial-aid support for students in Pennsylvania College of Technology's School of Hospitality. Siblings Maria, Fred and Francis Daniele have established the Daniele Family Scholarship Fund at Penn College. The endowed fund will be a permanent source of scholarship awards for students.
