Pennsylvania College of Technology has reorganized its Business Affairs operations to address organizational growth and an evolving business structure. Effective Sept. 1, Suzanne T. Stopper has been named vice president for finance, chief financial officer. Her responsibilities include Financial Operations, long-range financial planning, procurement services, auditing and budget development.

Pennsylvania College of Technology students will prepare free samples of dishes made with fresh, local food products at the Williamsport Growers Market on Sept. 12. Students enrolled in a Catering class offered by the college's School of Hospitality will prepare food on-site from 8 a.m.

Members of the American Welding Society student chapter at Pennsylvania College of Technology designed and fabricated a bench to memorialize a former classmate who died in an automobile accident. Colt W. Jenny, of New Sewickley Township, who graduated with an associate degree in welding technology in December 2007, died in September 2008. He was 21.

When the Pennsylvania College of Technology women's soccer team takes to the field Thursday at Davis College with just enough players to field a team, it can ill afford any red cards or injuries. "We're going into Thursday's game with no subs. It's going to be interesting.

Throughout his first nine years as cross-country coach at Pennsylvania College of Technology, Mike Paulhamus has made some bold predictions on how his teams would fare and they delivered every time. The Wildcat men have won seven conference championships including their last six in a row and finished second once under Paulhamus.

During her first season as coach of the Pennsylvania College of Technology coed tennis team, Aimee Plastow guided the squad to a conference championship. What will she do for an encore? "We really have a solid lineup. I see no reason why we can't be one of the top, if not the top team in the conference," Plastow said.

Comedian Jeff Ross, known as "The Roastmaster General," will perform at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, in the Community Arts Center as part of Homecoming 2009 (Oct. 8-11). Student tickets are only $10 and go on sale at the Student Activities Information Desk and the Arts Center Box Office at 10 a.m. Friday.

Greek Week began with formal expansion of the Pennsylvania College of Technology community to include two sororities – Alpha Sigma Alpha and Sigma Sigma Sigma, both of which held bid days on Aug. 30. The women selected their respective organizations and, amid a festive atmosphere that night in Penn's Inn, celebrated their new memberships.

A Caterpillar dealership's respect for a Pennsylvania College of Technology faculty member, combined with a fortuitous phone call and prompt follow-up, resulted in the donation of a 2008 marine engine to the college's diesel program. The 12-cylinder CAT C32 model, valued at $140,000, recently arrived at the Schneebeli Earth Science Center near Allenwood.
