The Student Government Association’s Spring 2025 Silent Auction generated a record-breaking $5,600 in funds, surpassing the previous record of $4,200.
The annual fundraiser is SGA’s signature event, raising money for the Student Leader Legacy Scholarship. Three Penn College students have been identified as the latest recipients of the scholarship: Carter M. Flory, a construction management student from Fayetteville; Alexis K. Manhart, of Bloomsburg, nursing; and Ian T. Mwaura, a heating, ventilation & air conditioning engineering technology from Swatara. Each will receive $1,360 in scholarship funds.

Selection criteria for the scholarship includes student leadership, and preference is given to full-time students with a minimum 2.5 GPA who have demonstrated previous leadership and volunteer service not only at Penn College but in surrounding communities.
“The Student Government Association values the Penn College student body and is proud to support their experience in and out of the classroom,” said Samir K. Pringle, vice president of finance for SGA and a business administration student from Philadelphia. “Thanks to our generous donors, we’re excited to award three scholarships to impactful student leaders on campus and look forward to future Silent Auction accomplishments.”
SGA’s annual Silent Auction has been a campus tradition since 2009.
