Monday, February 10, 2025

The Community Arts Center has received a $1,000 donation from Susquehanna Community Bank, as part of the Educational Improvement Tax Credit program. The funding will support the CAC’s approved educational programs, which include the Student Summer Stock, Educational Series and The Nutcracker production.

“Susquehanna Community Bank is grateful for our partnership with the CAC and is pleased to support their youth educational programs on an annual basis.” said Mike Loeh, vice president/relationship manager, Susquehanna Community Bank.

As part of the Educational Improvement Tax Credit program, the bank has donated $1,000 to the historic arts venue in downtown Williamsport.

“We’re incredibly grateful to Susquehanna Community Bank for this generosity,” said Jim Dougherty, executive director of the CAC. “Funding like this allows us to present a variety of educational programming each year to thousands of local K-12 students, many of whom see live performances for the first time in their lives at the Community Arts Center.”

To support the CAC’s high quality innovative educational programs, the historic 2,100-seat venue is designated as an Educational Improvement Organization under the EITC program through the Pennsylvania Department of Community & Economic Development.

The EITC program provides tax credits to eligible companies that do business in the state when they contribute to scholarship organizations, educational improvement organizations and/or pre-kindergarten scholarship organizations.

Annually, the CAC provides thousands of area youth access to exceptional educational programming. Funding for the educational programs is derived from various sources, including EITC Funds, donations, corporate sponsorships and grants.

“This support is vitally important to the CAC’s outreach into the community,” said Ana Gonzalez-White, college relations officer for CAC development. “Our educational, student-centered programs reach our youngest and most diverse population, and we are proud of that. We can’t do it without the community.”

The Community Arts Center is owned and operated by Pennsylvania College of Technology, a national leader in applied technology education.
