So begins the tale of Midnight Breakfast – the eagerly anticipated culinary kick-off to finals week (Dec. 9-13).

Hosted by Penn College’s Dining Services, 732 students enjoyed the annual tradition, savoring pancakes, sausage, donuts and ice cream with toppings galore (think: cherries, whipped cream, sprinkles and more).

Serving up the free feast, held in Dauphin Hall’s Capitol Eatery, were employees from Dining Services, Student Affairs, Academic Affairs and Penn College Police.

In addition to comfort food, the Dec. 5 extravaganza featured relaxing activities, like massage chairs, in a nearby lounge.

Dining Services also offers free finals-week treats in Capitol Eatery from 9:30 to 10:30 p.m. Donuts and coffee were on the menu Sunday evening, and Monday’s goodies were milk and cookies. Dessert nachos are Tuesday’s freebie, followed by cereal and milk on Wednesday.

Sweet eats certainly ease the end-of-semester stress.

Happy to be here!

Employees like Timothy J. Mallery (center), director of residence life, serve up the pre-finals meal. Joining him are David C. Pletz (on left), chief of police and director of campus safety, and Nate Woods Jr. (on right), special assistant to the president for inclusion transformation.

Tables fill with friends and fellowship.

Pajama pants are the perfect fashion statement for Midnight Breakfast.
