A group of Pennsylvania College of Technology students contributed to The Pennsylvania State University Advanced Vehicle Team's EcoCar by producing custom brake rotors for the vehicle. The team, made up of Penn State students, is producing a hybrid vehicle for EcoCAR: The NeXt Challenge.

Penn College junior Garrett Hornung (Emporium) was named the Penn State University Athletic Conference Baseball Player of the Week for the period ending April 17. Hornung hit .636 (7-11) with three doubles, five RBI and 10 runs. He helped the Wildcats to a 3-1 week, sweeping Penn State York and splitting with Penn State Mont Alto. This is Hornung's first PSUAC honor this season.

Runners braved the wind and rain to participate in the second School of Health Sciences Endowed Scholarship 5K Walk/Run on April 16. The 5K is organized by faculty and staff in the School of Health Sciences, the college's largest school, to build the fund, which will be permanently endowed when it reaches $25,000.
