Pennsylvania College of Technology recently presented Outstanding Varsity Athletic Alumni Awards to Becky J. Shaner, of Hughesville, and Bobby String, of New Cumberland. The honors were presented by Penn College President Davie Jane Gilmour during Oct. 10 Homecoming festivities at the college.

A crowd of more than 200 people watched in Bardo Gymnasium on Thursday night as the Penn College women's volleyball team defeated Penn State Abington and said a tearful "goodbye" to seniors Alyssa M. Covas and Ashley D. Oswald.

Although the voting was characterized as "tough," the Homecoming Committee was able to determine this year's winners from among the many colorful entries.
The On-Campus Flag Football Team controlled the ball for the entire first quarter of Thursday's game against its Off-Campus challengers, thanks to quality play-calling by quarterback Benaiah Tucci. Tucci then passed for a touchdown to start the second quarter before the clock could even start, giving the On-Campus team an early 7-0 lead.
School of Hospitality students and faculty benefited from visits by culinary experts who shared their knowledge during classes and special events.
This year's lone graduating member of the Penn College tennis team was recognized during a brief "Senior Day" ceremony prior to Wednesday afternoon's match against Penn State Mont Alto. James Kyle Hanjaras, a culinary arts and systems major from Montrose, was congratulated by teammates and members of the Athletics Department at the Memorial Park courts, where the Wildcats ultimately won, 9-0.
