Penn College added a welcome touch of holiday warmth to Friday night's blustery cold Holiday Parade through downtown Williamsport. Students carried character balloons in their adopted College Town, the Wildcat Dance Team performed, and adorned golf carts added some seasonal flair.
The 18th annual Toy Train Expo was held Saturday and Sunday at Park Place, and Penn College once again helped make it a success. A joint initiative among businesses and schools to reinforce the principles of a strong work ethic in high school students is expanding regionally. Pennsylvania College of Technology's Outreach for K-12 Office is facilitating the expanded program, recruiting businesses to lend their endorsement to the project.
Class of 2009 radiography students Kate Anton, of Julian; Ann-Denise Reed, of Montandon; Aleah N. McNeal, of Williamstown; and Alyson J. Kern, of Mapleton Depot, were selected to compete in the Radiography Technibowl, a competition against other radiography students from across the state, at the Hershey Medical Center on Nov. 11.
The Gallery at Penn College, on the third floor of Pennsylvania College of Technology's Madigan Library, will host "Exalting Everyday Elements," a collection of paintings by David Armstrong, from Dec. 2-17. This popular exhibit returns to the gallery for a third year with a new selection of Armstrong's original works.
The glory of real-world experience and the glare of reality television recently intersected for a group of Pennsylvania College of Technology students and their mentors, who traveled to Franklin County for an "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" construction project to benefit a family dedicated to helping special-needs youngsters.
