The Workforce and Economic Development Network of Pennsylvania (WEDnetPA), an organization created to strengthen the statewide business environment and provide Guaranteed Free Training to Pennsylvania companies, is marking 10 years of success. WEDnetPA is managed by Pennsylvania College of Technology, a special mission affiliate of The Pennsylvania State University.

The third episode of the award-winning "degrees that work." television series, a co-production of Pennsylvania College of Technology and WVIA-TV, is set to premiere on the public-television station at 7 p.m. on May 17. More than 30 new Penn College students, some of whom have been out of the classroom for decades, received a comprehensive (and reassuring) introduction to campus resources Tuesday from a variety of employees invested in their success. The students are enrolled under Trade Adjustment Assistance, which aids workers who lose their jobs to foreign imports.

The Gallery at Penn College held an opening reception and gallery talk Tuesday evening for the student portfolio exhibit on display through May 7. Fourteen ornamental horticulture students along with Pennsylvania College of Technology faculty members Carl J. Bower, Dennis Fink and Dennis P. Skinner, and Melissa M. Stocum, coordinator of matriculation and retention for the School of Natural Resources Management enjoyed a beautiful and education-filled field trip to the Philadelphia area on April 29.

The first section of modular classroom space, which will temporarily house science laboratories displaced from the Hager Lifelong Education Center by part of Penn College's Stage X building program, was delivered to main campus late Tuesday morning.
