Pennsylvania College of Technology freshman Renny Walker wasn't on the field when Sunday's championship match against Penn State Harrisburg began, but, when he walked off it nearly two hours later, he was the most satisfied.

Jeremiah C. Gee, assessment coordinator for Pennsylvania College of Technology's School of Integrated Studies, was recently named a peer reviewer for the National Association for the Education of Young Children. As a peer reviewer, Gee will review assessment plans and self-studies from institutions seeking NAEYC accreditation and will be part of a team of site visitors to the institutions.

A gift from a Pittsburgh couple to Pennsylvania College of Technology has created The Gallery at Penn College's first permanent collection. Michael Stuhldreher and Carol Totten donated a collection of African art that includes about 20 pieces, as well as art books that correspond to the region and time the works represent.

The Outdoor Adventure Club spent part of Saturday helping to maintain the Loyalsock Trail. Kyle Godfrey, club treasurer, arranged with local volunteers to acquire the tools needed and pinpoint areas where the 54-mile trail needed attention. OAC members hiked 2.5 miles of the trail with loppers and saws in hand, cutting back growth that had started to overtake the trail.

Two years ago, the Pennsylvania College of Technology women's volleyball team won a conference championship. Last year, it reached the championship game, but lost in the finals. On Sunday, it is seeking to return to the top.The Wildcats enter action at Rec Hall on Penn State's main campus in University Park as the top seed.
