New technology for law enforcement and a tracking device for lost seniors and children have been honored in this year's "Big Idea" business-plan competition. Students gathered near the college's Rose Street Warehouse on Thursday night for a bonfire, part of the 2007 "Fire and Ice" homecoming celebration. Penn College students and employees celebrated homecoming and supported a new scholarship fund at a donkey basketball game Thursday. All money raised from ticket sales went directly into the new Student Legacy Fund, which will serve as a scholarship program for student leaders at Penn College. This is the first student-established and student-run endowment program on campus.
A retired professor of horticulture will continue to help students succeed by establishing a new scholarship fund at Pennsylvania College of Technology. The Richard J. Weilminster Scholarship Fund will generate awards for students in Penn College's landscape/nursery technology associate-degree major.

Students in Donald Nibert's Wildlife Management course took to their spacious outdoor laboratory Tuesday to recondition nesting structures for next year's ducks and geese.
The latest exhibit at the Gallery at Penn College, "Works From Wood," opened with a reception from 3:30-7 p.m. Tuesday. The exhibit features the work of master wood engraver Raymond Gloeckler. David M. Moyer, instructor of graphic design, offered a demonstration of wood cutting and wood engraving.
