The second episode of the "degrees that work." television series, a co-production of Pennsylvania College of Technology and WVIA-TV, is set to premiere on the public-television station at 7:30 p.m. on June 29.

At the annual conference of the Pennsylvania Economic Association, Abdul B. Pathan, professor of economics at Pennsylvania College of Technology, presented a paper regarding child labor.

Brady L. Breon and Steven A. Wilson, both faculty members in the Pennsylvania College of Technology paramedic program, were honored recently at the Regional Emergency Medical Services Council banquet at the Genetti Hotel in Williamsport. Teams of educators from school districts and career and technology centers across the state are on campus this week for the Governor's Institute on Career Education and Work, facilitated by Penn College's Outreach for K-12 Office. With guidance from experienced mentors, the teams are working to develop strategies to implement the state's Career Education and Work Standards into their curricula.

The School of Industrial and Engineering Technologies held a camp for 20 ninth- and 10th-grade students June 11-13. Pennsylvania College of Technology's "myPCT" intranet for employees and students was the subject of a presentation by the college's vice president for information technology during the recent "Portal 2008: Measurement and Assessment" conference in Gettysburg.

The Madigan Library's first Rockhounds exhibit a showcase of local, personal collections of rocks, minerals and fossils from Penn College faculty/staff and students was a success! It merited mention in the Williamsport Sun-Gazette on June 6, and, from 10.30 a.m. until the library closed at 9 p.m. June 10, the exhibit brought in 116 visitors (78 adults and 38 children).
